Saturday 11th March, 20066.30pm- Worcestershire Theatre Drama Festival competition, Arts Centre, Evesham.
The Arts Centre was the venue for the Worcestershire Theatre Festival where 7 one act plays were performed by groups from around the area and adjudicated upon by Mr. Alan Hayes. Mayor & Consort watched the evening session, listened to the adjudicator’s comments, then the Mayor presented trophies.

Sunday 12th March, 20063.30pm- Special service of thanksgiving for the building of the Workman Bridge at Methodist Church, Evesham.
A special service of celebration commemorating 150 years since the Workman Bridge was built by James Taylor was held at Evesham Methodist Church, attended by many local people, Chairman of Worcestershire County Council (Cllr. Derek Prodger and his wife) and the Chairman of Wychavon District Council (Cllr. Mrs. Pam Davey and her husband Alan). Members of Evesham Town Council wore their civic robes for the occasion. Mr. Ron Taylor and Mr. Terry Hartley (both descendents of the bridge builder) were able to meet at the service. An exhibition relating to the bridge was mounted in the foyer of the church.
Thanks to Worcestershire County Council for re-painting the plaques in time for the service.
At a photocall prior to the service the Mayor met Mr. Terry Hartley, great great grandson of the builder of the bridge, and was able to view the exhibition

Wednesday 15th March, 20066.30pm- Mayor & Consort to attend 50th anniversary of 1st Badsey Guides, Badsey Remembrance Hall.
The Mayor and Consort were invited to attend the 50th anniversary of Badsey Girl Guides at the Badsey Remembrance Hall where they watched a pageant depicting guiding through 50years and a pantomime “Pied Piper of Hamlin”. Many former guides had been invited together with parents whose daughters had been (or still were) members of Badsey Girl Guides. Congratulations to all who took part and special thanks to Mrs. Elizabeth Bolland and her husband Ralph, who do so much for the Guiding movement.

Friday 17th March, 20066.30pm- Mayor of Worcester's Civic Charity Banquet at The Guildhall, Worcester.
Mayor and Consort joined other members of the “chain gang” at The Guildhall, Worcester for the Mayor of Worcester’s Civic Banquet. This banquet is a joint venture with Worcester Rotary Club. Entertainment was provided by Dentith & Price (Old Time musical hall) and Oliver Mealing, a 17year old musician wandered among guests displaying his magic. There was an auction and 2 draws – all for the Mayor’s charities and thos of Worcester Rotary Club.
A lovely evening in a splendid setting.

Friday 17th March, 2006All Day- Mayor enjoyed a rather special private day out.
On a very cold March day, the Mayor enjoyed a rather special private day out – a “day at the races” at the Cheltenham Festival on Gold Cup Day. There were approximately 70,000 people plus the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and her two children, the Princess Royal and Prince William’s girl friend (although he was “confined to barracks!”). We were able to see them all arrive at quite close range.
Despite the extremely cold wind and the crowds of people, the visit to Cheltenham Races was very enjoyable.

Saturday 18th March, 200610.30am- Evesham Fair Trade Coffee morning and presentation of certificate, Baptist Church, Evesham.
At the invitation of Clare Bostle, Deacon at Evesham Baptist Church, the Mayor and Consort attended a coffee morning in aid of Fairtrade and witnessed the presentation of a Fairtrade Church certificate to the Minister, Revd. Edward Pillar, by MP Peter Luff. Hopefull, this will be the first of many such certificates to be presented around the town of Evesham as the Fairtrade campaign gathers momentum, culminating in Evesham being declared a Fairtrade town in the future.

Thursday 23rd March, 20067.30pm- Evesham Operatice & Dramatic Society's production of "Kiss me Kate", Evesham Arts Centre.
Another great production from EODS at Evesham Arts Centre – Kiss Me Kate – with Julie Tew playing “Kate”/Lilli and Dave Kewley as Petruchio/Fred. Kiss me Kate was last performed by EODS at the Arts Centre 23 years ago, so many congratulations to everyone involved.

Friday 24th March, 20067 pm- Mayor of Cheltenham's Charity Ball.
The Mayor of Cheltenham (Cllr. Brian Chaplin) held his Charity Ball at the Town Hall, Cheltenham which was decorated with pink flying pigs. Guests participated in “human bingo” and a draw – proceeds to the Mayor’s charities (Glos. Prostate Cancer Trust and Parkinson’s Disease Society). The theme for the evening was “I Have a Dream”.

Saturday 25th March, 200612pm- BBC Experience, Hylton Road, Worcester. Drinks & nibbles with BBC Hereford & Worcester.
At lunchtime the Mayor & Consort visited BBC Hereford & Worcester Radio on their Open Day. Enjoyed drinks & nibbles and a chat with presenters.
Many members of the public were also able to visit & enjoy conducted tours of the radio station, exhibitions and live music.

Saturday 25th March, 20067.30pm- Mayor of Redditch's Civic Dinner.
A really enjoyable evening was spent with the Mayor of Redditch (Cllr. Mrs. Diane Thomas) and her guests at her Civic Charity Dinner at The Abbey Hotel, Redditch, with entertainment by resident DJ “Wavelength”. A draw was held during the evening for Cllr. Thomas’ charities.

The Mayor & Consort were invited to attend Evesham College to meet Ofsted Inspectors and other community and business personnel (part of the inspection process) to explain how the college assists in the development of skills and citizenship in the town and surrounding areas.

Wednesday 29th March, 20067pm- 1st Bengeworth Guides "Red, White & Blue" celebration, Methodist Church, Evesham.
At the invitation of 1st Bengeworth Guides, the Mayor and Consort enjoyed a production entitled Red, White & Gold at the Methodist Church. The story was based on several fairy stories. 32 young guides took part. Also at the end of the ceremony several new guides made their Guide Promise.

The Mayor was invited to welcome delegates to The Vale 100 Business Forum, at the Northwick Hotel. The Forum was about promoting business, Evesham and the surrounding area, set up by the Evesham Market Town Partnership and the Vale of Evesham Commercie & Tourism Assoc. (VECTA) and sponsored by Advantage West Midlands, VECTA, EMTP, Evesham Town Council and Wychavon District Council.
Keynote speakers were David Hall, Managing Director of Dhpub.co.uk and Graeme Perks, Vice-Chairman of the Ludlow Food Festival.

Friday 31st March, 200611.30am- Mayor & Consort to attend Job Fair at the Public Hall (Evesham Journal).
At the invitation of the Editor of Evesham Journal, John Murphy, the Mayor & Consort visited the first Jobs & Careers Fair promoted by Evesham Journal at the Public Hall. A number of employers attended the event along with recruitment agencies giving a wide range of advice on employment and training opportunities.
Congratulations to Evesham Journal on a really worthwhile exercise. Other organisations present were Pershore Group of Colleges, Back-up Staff, Access 2 Recruitment, Lloyds TSB, Worcs. Group Training Assoc. AC Selection, Job Centre Plus & Premiere People. Hope this will be the first of many such Jobs & Careers Fairs.

Friday 31st March, 20067pm- Mayor of Tewkesbury's Charity Dinner at the Watson Hall, Tewkesbury.
The Watson Hall, Tewkesbury was the venue for the Mayor of Tewkesbury’s Charity Dinner, where entertainment was provided by Magician John Edward, The Janie Ross Trio and the guest speaker was Mr. Harry Workman (an Honorary Alderman) who spoke about his life in Tewkesbury.
